About Capitol Hill / Cheesman Park

Capitol Hill, often referred to as Cap Hill, was founded in the 1880’s as a new residential suburb for Denver’s wealthiest families. Capitol Hill proper is generally considered to run from 7th Avenue north to Colfax, and Downing Street west to Broadway or Lincoln. However, in more recent development, projects in this area have generally been referred to as being in Uptown.
